Plus:
This new Monster has a number of plus points when compared to similar phones and to the predecessor Note. Here are a few:
- A Bigger Display than original Note. And, the largest any phone has ever got.
- The biggest phone battery till date. The battery for Note was 2500mAh and Note II comes with 3100mAh. (I own a Galaxy note and am truly satisfied with the battery performance as per my usage. Just can imagine what 3100 could be.)
- A quad core 1.6GHz Cortex A-9 processor with 2GB of RAM to satisfy your hunger for the best of animation and games.
- The price of Note II is on the better side when compared with rivals iPhone5 and also Nokia Lumia 920 (Windows 8 phone). This is a major plus considering the phone specifications.
- The S Pen: Samsung has come up with some cool pen tricks like writing on back of clicked picture, editing and re-coloring pictures with the Pen etc to make things easy for the user.
Minus:
- Its Large, and its really Large. With samsung saying its an unexplored category, users still are not convinced with a phone of this size. Though, it fits in the pocket easily.
Newly Added Features:
- Air View: When you hover over the display, it pops up the details for you. For ex, hover your pen over the subject and it will pop-up the message text, hover on the video timeline on YouTube and it will scroll through the video.
- You can play a video, pin it and you can continue doing other work on the phone while the video is played on a part of the screen. Considering the screen size, a video displayed in 25% of the screen is easily viewable while you can do the rest of the stuff in the other 75% area.
- The power and lock button is placed very well on the side for easy access.
- Removing the S-Pen opens up the S Memo App. Quite smart.
- Allows the user to scribble with the pen at the back of the pictures in the gallery, just like the real paper pictures.
